♥♥♥ · Drag above the ball to shoot

Hoop

Hoop

Swipe to shoot the ball through a moving hoop. The hoop speeds up with every basket.

How to play

A basketball hoop slides left and right near the top. The ball sits at the bottom.

More: full rules and tips

Put your finger on the ball or anywhere in the lower half of the screen and drag it to a point above the ball. The ball flies from where it sits toward your finger: the direction from the ball to your finger is the direction of the shot, and the farther your finger is from the ball, the harder the shot. A dotted line previews the arc up to the height of the rim. Release to shoot.

The ball follows an arc under gravity. It only counts if it is on its way down when it reaches the rim's height and passes cleanly between the two ends of the rim — a ball that goes up through the hoop from below does not count. A basket scores +1 and the hoop speeds up, with no limit; from the 10th basket on it also changes direction and speed a little at random after every basket. Anything else costs 1 of your 3 lives.

Goal: most baskets before 3 lives run out.

Tips & strategy

The hoop is always moving, so you cannot aim where it is — you must aim where it will be when the ball arrives. The shot is a slingshot arc under gravity, which takes a beat to travel, so lead the hoop: launch toward the spot it is sliding into, not the spot it occupies as you release. Watch its rhythm and time your shot as it drifts toward your aiming line.

Power and angle work together to control that arc, so find a consistent pull that drops the ball cleanly down through the rim from above, then keep reproducing it while only adjusting for the hoop's position. The ball must fall in from the top, so a high, soft arc that comes down into the basket is far more forgiving than a flat, hard shot that clangs off the rim. Each basket speeds the hoop up with no upper limit, so the moment in which a release still scores keeps getting shorter. There is no shot clock, though: take your time, watch the hoop's rhythm and release only when it is heading into your line. From the 10th basket on its direction and speed shift a little after every score, so re-read the rhythm each time instead of repeating your last release.
