Air Hockey

Drag your striker to slam the puck into the AI's goal. Score as many goals as you can in 60 seconds.

How to play

Press and drag the blue striker in the bottom half of the table. The puck floats almost frictionlessly and bounces off the side cushions.

The red AI striker patrols the top half โ€” it chases the puck when the puck is on its side and falls back to defend its goal otherwise.

A goal scores when the puck crosses into the small opening in the opponent's cushion. After every goal the puck respawns at center. The faster you strike, the more momentum the puck carries.

You have 60 seconds. Your score is the total number of goals you put in the AI's net. The AI's goals against you don't subtract โ€” but every goal it scores costs you a couple of seconds of momentum.

Tips & strategy

Wait for the puck, don't chase it. Beginners follow the puck wherever it goes and end up out of position when it rebounds off a cushion. Instead, sit your striker in the middle of your half with one hand and read where the puck is going to come down โ€” when the line is set, snap forward into it for a hard, clean shot. A still striker hit by an incoming puck deflects it weakly; a striker moving into the puck adds your speed to the puck's, doubling its outgoing momentum.

Use the cushions as your second striker. A straight shot at a defended goal will just be blocked, but a shot aimed at a side cushion comes back at the goal from an angle the AI can't easily cover. Look for the bank-shot angle from where the puck currently is โ€” even one cushion bounce is often enough to put the puck behind the AI's striker.

Defense is positioning, not reaction. The AI strikes hard and the puck moves fast โ€” by the time you've reacted to a shot it's already past you. Sit your striker on the line between the puck and the centre of your goal whenever the puck is on the AI's side. From that anchor any rebounds bounce back toward you naturally, and you only have to commit forward when the puck is clearly on your half and exposed.
