Pop the Lock

A spinning needle circles a dial. Tap when it lands on each notch. Miss once and the lock resets.

How to play

A pointer rotates clockwise around a circular dial at constant speed. Each level marks several notches at random angles around the dial.

Your task: tap exactly when the pointer is over a notch. Hit one → the notch turns green and stays. Hit all notches in the level → +10 bonus and the next level starts (more notches, faster rotation).

Tapping ANYWHERE while the pointer is NOT on a notch ends the game immediately. You cannot tap multiple times on one notch — already-hit notches don't count again, but you also don't lose for tapping over a green one (it's safe ground).

Score = total notches hit + level bonuses. There is no time limit; the lock waits for your taps. The skill is precise reaction timing under faster and faster rotation.

Tips & strategy

Tap on entry, not on exit. The pointer is over a notch for a finite angular window — if you wait until you 'see' the pointer covering the notch, you've already burned the first half of that window on visual processing. Anticipate by tapping the moment the pointer is half a hair before the notch.

Prefer the FIRST notch in the rotation direction. The pointer always comes around again, so there's no urgency to hit a notch on the opposite side. Wait for the nearest notch (relative to the pointer's current position going clockwise) and never tap a notch you'll have to wait a near-full revolution for.

Green notches are your friends. They're the only safe zones to tap on. If you ever doubt your timing on the next notch — especially on later levels — you can let the pointer cross a green notch and tap there as a 'wait' tap (it does nothing, but proves you can hit precise targets).

The tolerance window shrinks with speed. On level 1 the pointer crawls and you can tap roughly. By level 5 the pointer covers a full notch in a fraction of a second — you must commit to a tap before you see the pointer visually overlap. Most deaths past level 6 are 'I was about to tap' moments — pre-commit.
